“Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.”-John 6:12 (NLT)
These words gave me so much comfort last week. As I sat in my quiet space to rest at His feet, these words leaped off the page and directly into my heart.
I had always just interpreted this as the disciples gathering the breadcrumbs and the fish to place in the baskets so that maybe they could feed more people or even themselves but last week, I began to think about how it pertains to life.
So that nothing is wasted….
These words reminded me how everything that I have been through and currently going through is preparing me for something. It doesn’t matter how big or small, God can use every piece for something greater than that moment. God can use all of the intricate details for something that we may not be able to conceptualize yet.
I find joy in knowing how we can gather the brokenness, the insecurities, and the discontentment. We can gather our treacherous past because we serve a God who doesn’t waste any experience.
Will you gather your leftovers so that no day, no opportunity, no time is wasted? Will you gather it in a way to help propel you towards your future?
Friends, can we gather together and share our leftovers so that we can not only all sit together to learn but also enjoy the feast?
I want to encourage you as we look forward to another week to let nothing be wasted. Nothing.
